FAQ

Where do I watch the lessons/How do I login to Willa Workshops?

You can watch your purchased Willa Workshops course lessons anytime, wherever you have access to WiFi. When you are logging into Willa Workshops, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to willawanders.com and click the CLASS LOGIN button in the top right corner if you're on your computer, or behind the upper left menu if you're on your phone.
  • You will be asked to login every time you start a new browser session
  1. If you close the tab but keep the browser open, you shouldn't be asked to login again if you open Teachable in a new tab
  • Once you click this button, feel free to bookmark the page it takes you to for easy access
  • You can also download the Teachable app if you're on iPhone or iPad
  1. Make sure you are logging in using your email address that you bought the class under
  2. Teachable will automatically send a one-time login code to your email. They will do this every time you login.
  1. After entering either the email code or your password, you should be in!
  2. If you can verify you are successfully logged in, but are encountering issues such as it saying you are not enrolled classes, you will need to follow some basic troubleshooting steps:
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again
  • If still not working, try restarting your device, then try again
  • If STILL not working, try accessing from a different browser/device/wifi network

Please try logging in using the steps above, and troubleshooting if necessary. If you are STILL having trouble after following all of the steps, we can arrange a Zoom where you can share your screen and I can try to see what's going on.

I just bought a new course from Willa Workshops and when I am logged into Willa Workshops, I do not see the new course in my list of courses. What do I do now?

  • The most common reason for this happening is that when you purchased the new course, there was a different email address in the registration process and this generated a new and different user account in the Willa Workshops school on Teachable.

  • Other Reasons for this are: there may have been a typo in your email address when you registered for the new course (this happens A LOT!), your email address for Teachable and your email address for PayPal are two different emails, or you have multiple accounts within Willa Workshops already and each account has some of your classes in it.

  • Please email me at [email protected] and let me know that you cannot find your new course that you just purchased. Send me your full name and a list of all of your email addresses that you can remember. Let me know your preferred email address for Willa Workshops.

  • After I receive your email notification of the problem, I will correct the issue in the backend of the system and let you know by email that this problem has been fixed.

I am having trouble playing the videos in the classroom. I get an error message in place of a video. OR I'm not able to access Willa Workshops on Teachable from my device.

Most likely you just need to follow the following generic troubleshooting steps:

  • Try refreshing your browser page first before doing any other troubleshooting
  • If you see a video box, but the video isn’t loading, try right-clicking on the video specifically to re-load it
  • Clear your browser cache & cookies, close the browser fully, and try again
  • If you aren’t sure how to clear your browser cache and cookies, it’s not hard! Just google: “How to clear cache and cookies on [and type the name of the browser you’re using here]”
  • Try accessing the classroom from a different browser, device, and/or even wifi network
  • You may also need to make sure browser extensions, Anti-Virus softwares, firewalls, and VPNs know to whitelist this URL: https://willa-workshops.teachable.com
  • Restart your device. Sometimes it's as simple as this!

In the words of Fodder Schooler MaryLu, "There are so many variables. PC or Mac. iPhone or Android. Laptop or desktop or iPad. Then all the different browsers. A good idea to clear cache, cookies, history—not just recent but all time. Shut down device and turn on again. Is your software up to date. It can be as simple as a setting blocking that particular website—go into settings and look carefully at each one. Once I could not get into a different website—a setting was blocking access by not allowing downloads. Is it a firewall or VPN that is blocking you. Maybe your internet provider could help out. If you have access to someone else’s computer, try signing on from there."

I cannot find my Willa Workshops Courses with all of the other Schools and Courses that I purchased on Teachable. How can I fix this?

You need to link my school into your account with all of your other schools. Here is how to do that:

1. From the school's website, https://willa-workshops.teachable.com/sign_in, please log in with the email address and password that you used when you created the account.  *Important note here: The user will want to enter the password and click on the Login button directly underneath the password field.*

2. Click the profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.

3. Click the Edit Profile tab from the profile dropdown menu.

4. Scroll to the Linked Accounts section, and click Login next to the Teachable Accounts option.

5. In the login window, enter the email address and password associated with your Teachable Account. If you are already logged in to your Teachable Account on your device, you will skip this step. 5. Review the authorization information and click Authorize.

I forgot my password (or I'm having login issues) and I submitted for a password reset, but I didn't receive the password reset email.

We are so sorry for your frustration! Before contacting us about your password reset nightmare (we have them too with other websites, we know!), try logging in here without doing a reset:

https://willa-workshops.teachable.com/sign_in

If that doesn't work and you have forgotten your password and the reset email is not arriving in your inbox or spam folder, go ahead and do the following

Step 1: Contact Wendy at [email protected] and let her know that you submitted for a password resent and did not receive a password reset email from Teachable.

Step 2: Let Wendy know your exact email address that you use for your Willa Workshops account on Teachable.

Step 3: Wendy will issue you a temporary password and email you back letting you know what your new, temporary password is.

Step 3: Login to https://willa-workshops.teachable.com using the temporary password that I send you by email.

Step 4: Now that you are logged in, you can do your own password reset in your profile by clicking on the circle in the upper right of your Teachable screen and navigating your way over to Password reset. I'm interested in your year long mixed media + collage art course called Fodder School. Which year should I start with?

For all of the information about Fodder School, click here. For the answer to the question, read on . . .

Each year of Fodder School has different teachers and different projects-it is all amazing!

Each month of Fodder School is a stand alone course, so there are no prerequisites. But, the more you do Fodder School months, the more leftovers you have, and those leftovers get incorporated into the new months, so there is an element of connectivity, but not in the traditional sense. It's more like "the more you do, the better and better it gets." People who do more months of content level up their skills, but there is chronological order to the lessons.

So, Fodder School 2 is not a prerequisite for FS3. FS3 is not a prerequisite for FS4. And so on.

I recommend choosing which Fodder School to start with based on your answer to one question:

Do you want to work on each month with a group of artists from around the world who can share their work on Instagram and in our private Facebook groups (social media sharing is optional, not required!)? Are you looking for a lot of social media interaction with other FS participants? If yes, the answer is FS5 because the first new lessons begin dropping on October 1, 2025 for that year long experience.

If you would rather work at your own pace (you can still be very active in a Facebook group, but you won't have the motivation of keeping up with a large group), then I recommend either Fodder School 2, 3, and/or 4. One is not better than the other.

If you have a lot of time for crafting, and you want enough content to keep you busy each week, sign up for all of the Fodder School years. Keep up with the current Fodder School lessons as they release each month, and then work through the older years at your own pace.

I hope that helps!

Please let me know if you have any other questions by e-mailing me here: [email protected]

I'm interested in taking your online classes and I'm wondering how I can get possible questions answered about the course? Also, how do I share my work in the course with you and other participants?

Participants share work with each other mainly in the private Facebook Groups that are running for many of my classes. You can also share your work or ask questions right in the Teachable classroom. But be sure to check if your question has already been asked and answered in the comments to the videos, because chances are high that this is the case.

Willa Workshops classes have extremely active private Facebook groups when the course is first launched and for months after that. Some classes that I released in the past still have very active FB groups. Even if you enroll after the initial hooplah, you can still access the Facebook Group once you enroll and enjoy all of the posts from the past. There is so much inspiration!

If you need anything from me, I am always available by email ([email protected]) and we can even set up a telephone call when necessary.

Most of the questions have already been asked and answered in the comments sections to each course on Teachable by participants who have taken the course already.

How do I turn off or change the language of the subtitles/closed captioning on the videos?

You can control the language of the subtitles, turn them on and off, and even change the color and the size of the words.

When you hover your cursor over the video screen, a bunch of tools pop up across the bottom of the video screen. The tool that looks like a keyboard is the one that controls the subtitles. Choose your language, change their size or shut them off.

I don't know which device you are using, but on all devices there is an area with tools like volume and stuff. On my computer, I see the tools bar at the bottom part of each video. If you are using an ipad, you access the tools differently.

If you are using an ipad and not a computer, press the three little dots on the bottom of the screen to find the tools to control the subtitles.

The power is in your hands!

Do you offer monthly payment plans for your courses?

I currently offer this option on select courses on Willa Workshops. If this is available for a particular course, it will be clearly indicated on the sales page.

I need a receipt of my course purchase. How can I get that?

1. Login and click on your profile in the top right corner

2. Navigate to "Purchase History"

3. Click on "View Receipt"

How do I turn off comment notifications on Teachable?

Please login to Teachable and go to your profile settings and toggle off the comments thingie going to your emails. I wish I could do this for you but I don't have that level of control over anyone else's Teachable account.
