Why should I enroll in the current year of "Fodder School"?

Fodder School years are “living” courses. During the release month for each set of lessons, other Fodder School teachers are inspired and like to contribute their ideas, tips and tricks that build off that month’s lessons. This bonus content gets added to the classroom, adding to the excitement and delivering a level of learning that no other online community offers.

Fodder School gives our participants the benefits of a membership platform without the commitment. Fodder School participants sign on for one year of “Make Fodder . . . Use Fodder . . . Repeat!” with new lessons dropping every other week into our classroom.

Interested artists who missed out on a previous year of Fodder School content can purchase previous years of content. We are currently releasing our third year of Fodder School, “Fodder School 3,” which began its delivery on October 1, 2023 and will complete delivery on September 30, 2024.

One year of Fodder School is not a prerequisite to any other year of Fodder School, as each month is a complete course in-and-of-itself.

Envision yourself being part of our vibrant community, learning and growing every month. With live Zoom sessions, an active community, and lifetime access to all of our recorded, close captioned lessons that you can watch at your convenience, this level is for those committed to mastering the craft and connecting with like-minded enthusiasts.

What are Fodder Challenge Lessons and how do they differ from Fodder School lessons?

Fodder Challenge lessons are relatively short, quick mixed media collage fodder creation or project lessons. They are as wonderful as Fodder School lessons, but achievable in less time. The Fodder Challenge lessons are beloved! There are Fodder Challenge lessons available in the Fodder School 2 and 3 classrooms.

What does "The Whole Enchilada" offer that the other levels don't?

Ever heard the saying, "Go big or go home?" This level is for the true mixed media art enthusiasts who don't want to miss a thing. With all of the content from Fodder School 1, 2, and 3, plus 22 Fodder Challenge Projects and more, this is the ultimate package for those who want comprehensive learning and immense value. Think about the endless projects and skills you'll acquire. Are you ready to dive deep?

How do the live Zoom "Fodder School Love Fests" enhance my learning experience?

Feel the pulse of the Fodder School community in our live sessions, where learning transcends into a communal celebration! These sessions offer you a unique opportunity to interact directly with Wendy, Tiffany, and the instructor of the month. Engage in real-time discussions, ask questions, and truly immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of our artistic family. And if you're unable to join live, there's no need to fret. We provide recorded sessions for you to enjoy at your own pace. Imagine having a front-row seat to a world of artistic camaraderie and inspiration, all from the comfort of your home. Isn't it thrilling to be part of something so dynamically creative?

Connect with the Fodder School teachers, ask questions, share your work, seek feedback, and immerse yourself in an environment that breathes creativity. Isn't it time you found your tribe?

What's the significance of the "lifetime access" to the Fodder School content?

You set the pace of your learning, your availability and your creative commitment. Revisit lessons, refresh your skills, or take the courses at your own pace. With lifetime access, your learning journey is truly endless. Can you imagine the comfort of knowing you can access top-notch content anytime, anywhere?

I'm not fluent in English; can I still benefit from the courses?

Absolutely! Our video lessons come with closed captions in English, Spanish, French, German and Hebrew and upon request, we may be able to provide captions in other languages. We believe in inclusivity and ensuring that language isn't a barrier to your artistic journey.

Are there any restrictions on how I use the Fodder School lesson content?

At Fodder School, we value and respect the unique content we create for our lessons. To maintain the exclusivity and integrity of our course materials, we kindly ask our participants not to use these resources for creating their own social media content. This means filming yourself while engaging in Fodder School lessons and sharing it on social media platforms is not permitted. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our educational content special and unique to our community. Thank you for respecting these guidelines and helping us maintain a positive and exclusive learning environment!

How can I participate in the Fodder School community on social media?

We would LOVE to see photos and reels of your FINISHED collage fodder and Fodder School projects on all social media. Just make sure to use our hashtags (#fodderschool and #fodderschoolproject) and tag @fodder.school and the teachers.

Please take very special care not to reveal any techniques from Fodder School lessons in your social media posts (either in the photos, videos of finished fodder and projects, or post descriptions).

If you would like to ask questions and share technique and supply recommendations, the place to do this is in the comments section of the lessons on Teachable and in our private Facebook Groups (one separate private Facebook group exists for each year of Fodder School, accessible only to paid participants).

Can I sell the art projects that I create in Fodder School?

Chances are that you can! Just reach out to the instructor and ask for their permission before selling products created from Fodder School projects, unless what you make does not resemble and cannot be confused with what was created in the Fodder School project lessons.

You absolutely can use the collage fodder that you hand make in any product for sale without asking for permission.

Wendy Solganik @willa.wanders

Wendy is the creative director, Head Mistress and owner of Fodder School.

She is a lifelong artist and crafter, currently working in handmade books, mixed media art, collage, hand lettering and watercolor. From production wheel pottery to scrapbooking to knitting and so many more passions, Wendy always dives deep to master a craft. After a fifteen year stint as the co-owner of Luscious Verde Cards, a successful, award-winning, custom invitation manufacturing company, you can find Wendy at home in her art studio. Crafting and creating online art class experiences for students all over the world is her current passion. You just never know where she will wander to next!

Megan Quinlan @meganquinlanstudio

Megan has been art journaling and book binding for about 20 years.

She took a 10 year break from paper arts when she had her first 2 children. About 6 years ago, she came back into journaling after some big life changes. Journaling had always been a part of her life, especially working life’s challenges out on the page. When she first started out, Megan only focused on making books by hand with some basic collage and stamping. She was intimidated by the amazing art journalers out there who had elaborate, mixed media spreads in their journals. She decided that she was going to really push herself to learn all the techniques that she had been too afraid to try. Painting and drawing have really allowed her to find so much joy in her creative process, and Megan now almost exclusively creates mixed media every day. Megan lives in New Jersey.

Tiffany Sharpe @tiffanysimplysharpe

Tiffany Sharpe is a mixed media artist who most enjoys working with watercolor and creating unique, handmade books.

Although she enjoyed staying busy with a variety of different crafts for most of her life, Tiffany recently immersed herself into mixed media art and art journaling. After doing a 100 day project called "100 Days of Collage Fodder," she bravely co-launched the wildly popular Fodder Challenge, a series of short, free classes from popular mixed media artists. Tiffany is now the Executive Producer of a new online school called Fodder School, the only 12 month online art course dedicated to the love of collage fodder, where over 3500 students are making fodder, using fodder and repeating! When not creating art, you can find Tiffany at home, taking care of her two kids and husband in Minnesota.
