Where Do We Begin?
Thirty years ago I was aware of Mixed Media Art and I thought it looked incredible, but I had no idea where to begin, so I basically just shoved my desire to become a mixed media artist under the rug.
Fast forward a few decades and a few light years when it comes to technology. We are now living in the digital age where online art education is as prolific as the stars in the sky!
Finally, I can say "I am a mixed media artist" thanks to all of the wonderful online art instructors that I have had the privilege of learning from, all from the comfort of my own home with no travel or hotels required!
The options for Mixed Media Art education are many now, and yet, some of us still feel that sense that they cannot access its wonders.
In this course I will attempt to present many of the foundational concepts, materials, tips, and tricks that I have come to know and love in the world of mixed media art.
This will in no way be a completely comprehensive course, as the world of Mixed Media Art is just that huge, and I am only one person! So this course will really be about what I have found to be the most helpful ideas, concepts, tips, and tricks within the world of Mixed Media Art and I am still rather new at this even after seven years!
Course Structure
I will be adding videos to this course one at a time as I create them. Expect a very slow and steady increase in video content throughout 2025 and beyond!
What this course is not
This course is not a substitute for your actual making of mixed media art projects! This isn't a course where there is a supply list and technique videos or even a project, so if you make the decision that you are ready to try your hand at mixed media art, go for it with a project based course of your choosing!
